The English Medium Instruction team is proud to announce the launch of its seventh e-module entitled Prosody to Enhance Meaning and Effect. This e-module, like the other six e-modules currently available on the ILIAS learning platform, focuses on a specific linguistic and communicative skill for teaching in English.
In addition to great visual mediums, engaging content, and meaningful in-class tasks, teachers can also heighten student attention rates by posing questions with an inviting intonation, emphasizing key words, or pausing with rhetorical effect. This e-module looks at these teaching-specific aspects of prosody in the classroom. Video tutorials, downloadable resource sheets, and self-learning tasks provide teachers with material to self-reflect on and train their prosodic skills.
At the end of the e-module, there is a brief feedback survey, which we urge you to complete because it helps us identify strengths and weaknesses as we develop and optimize future e-modules.
